Umbwe Route

Considered the most challenging trail up Kilimanjaro, Umbwe Route is only attempted by experienced hikers. But the success rate is relatively low, around 60-70%. Choose the itinerary with an extra day for acclimatization to reach the summit successfully.

Shira Route

Though Shira Route doesn’t have one of the best acclimatization profiles, as it starts from an elevated altitude, the average success rate for an 8-day itinerary is 90%.
