The Mount Kilimanjaro Daily Routine kicks off early, greeted by the sunrise and a cheerful morning alert. Around 6:00 am -6: 30 am, your camp staff will wake you up. Then they prepare hot water for washing your face and hand.

Preparation

After that, you’ll need to re-pack your duffel bag and Kilimanjaro Daypack. Remember to pack only what you’ll need for the day’s hiking. Roll up your sleeping bag before leaving your tent, dress up, and prepare for the day’s trek.

Breakfast on Mount Kilimanjaro

After preparing for Mount Kilimanjaro, you will be served hot tea and other hot beverages and breakfast. Usually, breakfast is served between 7:30 am and 8:00 am. During this time the camp staff and all gather there for the day’s briefing.

Begin your day-trek

Refill your water bottles, and after the medical checks, you will start your trial, usually around 9:00 am, for the next camp.

You’ll hike at a slow-to-moderate pace with your guide’s instruction with trekking poles in hand. By your path, you can take rests to catch your breath, eat snacks and behold your eyes with the magnificent scenery of the majestic Kilimanjaro.

Your guide will hike with you to ensure the group stays together, giving frequent reminders of the pole. Keeping pace will help with acclimatization while Kilimanjaro Climbs and minimizes the chance of exhaustion. However, remember to let your guide be informed if you have altitude sickness.

Lunch Time on the Kili

You will stop for lunch along the way. The lunch will be served in a mass tent or you’ll have a picnic lunch that completely depends on the weather conditions, and the chosen route. Aim for doing most of the Mount Kilimanjaro climbing in the morning , so that after lunch it’ll be a shorter trek to your campsite.

In the Afternoon

While Climbing Kilimanjaro , rainfall is quite common, especially during the afternoon and at lower altitudes. That’s why we strongly recommend you carry a raincoat or an umbrella with you. You will arrive at your next camp around the late afternoon. After that, you will relax and will have some afternoon snack which generally includes popcorn, peanuts, and a hot drink.

Arrival at the Next Camp

On arrival at your next camp, you’ll find your tent ready for you and your backpack inside. It’s important to change out of any damp clothing and unpack before heading over to the mess tent for snack and tea time.

Dinner

Around 7:00 pm, an early diner will be served with the briefing for the next day’s hiking. You will be served dinner in the mess tent beautifully arranged with tables, chairs, dinnerware, and silverware.

After having your breakfast, you can talk with your fellow climbers, guides, and porters or you can crawl into your sleeping bag for an early good night.

Briefing for the next day

After the early dinner, your Kilimanjaro Guide will brief you about the next day’s climbing. A daily evening briefing is all about the required things like what the next day will be like in terms of altitude, hiking trail, walking distance and clothing to wear for the night.
